The Buddha frequently emphasized the importance of having like-minded friends and engaging in conversations about the Buddhist teachings. Also, many Sangha members and visitors have requested opportunities to get to know others. On Community Nights, after our sit (which is usually 30 minutes on Community Nights) we have tea and refreshments. Then a Sangha member provides a short presentation on a topic related to the Buddha’s teachings and suggests questions for discussion. Newcomers as well as sangha regulars are welcome.
In 2017, six Community Nights are scheduled: January 3, March 28, May 23, July 4, September 26, and November 28. Please check our calendar and weekly e-newsletter to confirm the date, and for topics and presenters.
