Introduction to Insight Meditation

Introductory classes covering the basic practices of Insight Meditation  are offered approximately six times a year. Introduction to Insight Meditation includes Breath Meditation, Mindfulness, Meditation on Mind States, and Loving-kindness. The class is useful for anyone new to insight meditation, as well as those desiring a refresher class or support for their practice.

Classes run for four consecutive weeks. A $20 fee for the four classes (which can be waived if you cannot otherwise attend) covers rent and administrative costs. Classes are held at the Mountain Cloud Zen Center in the dining room from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm. Although we are not a part of the Zen center, we use their facilities. After each class, students are encouraged to join the rest of the Sangha for the evening’s dharma talk or discussion.

  • February 21, 28, March 7, 14
  • May 2, 9, 16, 23
  • July 25, August 1, 8, 15
  • October 10, 17, 24, 31
  • November 7, 14, 21, 28
